Flags

This is the flag pole in our front yard. We are proud Americans and proud parents of an American soldier.

Easter 2008

We celebrated Easter with a covered dish lunch at Millie & Ray's house. The children were so excited about the Easter egg hunt. This year we had two "prize eggs" for the younger and older age groups. Courtney and Chloe were the lucky ones. Each egg was filled with cash. The adults played badminton, croquet, and horse shoes. Debbie brought confetti eggs...look at Josh & Kayla's hair!

Zoo Excursion

Mark and I took Eddie & Aicila on a zoo excursion to Ellen Trout Zoo. They had such a good time; they love the zoo. Eddie enjoyed the rhino. Both kiddos like the turtles on the "broken bridge". The peacocks were in full bloom for the peahens as well as our enjoyment. Eddie and Aicila were amazed at the bird. A little boy behind us said, "Look at all those eyeballs!" Too cute! We finished up our outing on a train ride.

Update on Home Improvements

Here's an update on the construction at our house. I took pictures each day of construction. We have added a front porch, roughly 10'X20'. The window opening in the front will be the home of my one-of-a-kind stain glass window. I will install this...after paint and fixtures are complete.

Eddie's First T-Ball Game

Eddie's first T-ball game was Saturday! He was so cute. We love T-ball- it's a laugh-a-minute. We video taped his game. Aicila would cheer him on, "Go, Eddie". She's learning how to say words we can actually understand now. Like all four-year-old kiddos, Eddie likes playing infield better than outfield. He loves to bat and run bases. He would sit down, or play with his cap, or throw his baseball glove in the air, etc., in the outfield. We cheered him on just the same. John left work for a couple hours to help coach Eddie's game at first base.

Joshua's 22nd Birthday

Mark and I had a fajita buffet for Joshua's 22nd birthday. We invited friends and family to join us, including Cynthia's family and Kayla's grandmother. One of Cynthia's twin brothers are on the "horsey" while the other is patiently waiting to ride. Josh insisted on grilling. Besides his birthday, we had other occasions to celebrate: one year sobriety and a new job working off shore. He's equally proud of all three milestones.

Jeremy's Mid-Tour Break

It was so exiting seeing Jeremy during his mid-tour break. We had such a good visit with Brittni and him. Jeremy is turning into a fine young man. We are so proud of him!

And THOR, Jeremy's dog, more than doubled in size! This dog is huge. Thor is a Saint Bernard-Mastive mix breed. Brittni says he eats 75 pounds of dog food each week. Here's a picture of Thor standing with his front paws on Jeremy's shoulders. Thor walked up to our car and looked right inside the car window.

Thor is a big dog with an even bigger appetite! He used the trees we planted last year as chew toys!

Jeremy wrote a song for Brittni for Valentine's Day. He played the music he wrote, but we couldn't get him to sing to us.

Brittni taught Thor to roll over.
