Updates On Home Improvements

My goodness what a long weekend! Mark and I worked ALL of Memorial Day Weekend on the house. Mark said if he ever had to change careers, he would NOT be a painter! Eddie and Aicila walked over to look at our progress. Eddie said he liked yellow and our house was "beautiful"! Look at the close-up photo of Mark's face; he thought I could spray the shutters while he held them. Mark is covered with the over-spray! This worked once. Of course, after this weekend, I do believe it is now gray hair!

Returning Soldier

The American Legion Auxiliary hosted a luncheon for a soldier returning from his tour of duty in Iraq. Pictured below are (left to right): Shirley Crain, Theresa Sabin, Marsha Eppley, Bonnie Shows, Rita Redd, Barbara Forsythe, Lucy Burris, Ashley Freeman. Chic-Fil-A donated the boxed lunches and we visited and watch a slide show of pictures taken in Iraq.

Troops Receive Candy from Texas

The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #113 ships care packages monthly to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among other items, candy from the Atkinson Candy Company in Lufkin, Texas was in one of the packages sent to Jeremy. He shared the treats , namely Chick-O-Sticks and Peanut Butter Bars, with his comrades and they loved it! Now, Jeremy receives the candy each month to share with everyone. Jeremy sent a picture of each in his platoon with the candy.

Jerrod's Cap & Gown Pictures

I took pictures of Jerrod in his cap and gown for his graduation invitations. It's hard to believe...he graduates on Friday, May 30.
