Hurricane Gustav

As we prepare for Hurricane Gustav, we have the vehicles gassed up and ready to go if need be, the generator is available if we lose power, and I have casseroles in the freezer for quick, ready meals. Bert (a.k.a. MeMaw) is staying with Josh & Kayla till the storm passes. Joshua's employer evacuated the rig he works on in preparation of impact. We have had a number of folks travel to Lufkin leaving the New Orleans area. Our church has evacuees staying in the Fellowship Hall.

Brandon & Sebastian

Brandon came home for Labor Day Weekend to help his brother, Chris, move to Tyler. Chris is attending the University of Texas in Tyler. Chris moved into a duplex off campus. The Adams' borrowed our truck and trailer to move Chris' furniture and things. Brandon left to go back to Corpus Christie before the holiday weekend ends.

Caged Animal

Eddie and Sebastian were playing together and Aicila was aggravating them. She would take their toys and run down the hall. She was having fun, but they were not. Finally, the boys put some toys in Sam's cage and put Aicila in there. Mark and I were visiting with Bobbie, Brian, and Brandon. We heard Aicila calling for Nanny. Mark and I stopped to take the picture. It was too funny!

Jordan Conway

This is one of Jeremy’s high school classmates, Jordan Conway. Jordon worked a couple summers at Lufkin Industries while attending school at SFASU. He is now moving to College Station where, you guessed it, he’s going to Texas A&M.
Gig ‘em, Aggies!

Crabby?

Mark was sitting in the Cleveland, Ohio airport with a three-hour lay-over and e-mailed this to me from his cell phone. HE TOLD ME HE DELETED THAT! This was taken at Joe's Crab Shack in Houston. And, yes, we were eating crab legs.

Daddy, Circa 1944

I 'bought' this picture at the Vineyard Family Reunion auction. I had it enlarged and framed and gave it to Daddy for his birthday present. I also framed the picture of Sam and Genoa Vineyard as a gift. I added the names to the picture and made copies for all my siblings.

The date of the picture is Circa 1944.
Pictures are Dad's first cousins (left to right):
Fay, Gerald, Jane, Maxine, Jerry Dee (Daddy), Bill J, Dean, Joyce, Bobby

Cole Fishing Trip

Melenda shared these pictures with me. This is a fishing trip with Joe Dee and Bobby. John the Dachshund went along for the ride.

Jerrod's High School Graduaton

We missed seeing Jerrod graduate, but Melenda gave me the pictures. Jerrod received a full scholarship to Panola Junior College.

August 12, Daddy's Birthday

Today was Daddy's 68th birthday. It's hard to believe he is that old! We celebrated his special day over dinner at a local favorite: Dean's Meat Market in Huntington. Present were: Daddy & Linda, Bobby & Melenda, me (Mark was in Wisconsin), Gary & Debbie, Fred & Kimberly and the kiddos, Millie & Ray and kiddos, Becky's daughter, Ashley, John & Cynthia and the grandbabies, Kayla (Josh was offshore), and many of Jerrod and Jordan's friends (names unknown).

Sam & Genoa Vineyard

This is a picture of my great-grandparents, Sam & Genoa Vineyard, affectionately known as "Momo & Popo". The second picture is Sam & Genoa with Jane Vineyard, my father's first cousin.
